Home insurance cover has three sections; Building, Contents, Personal Effects.
Perils insured under all sections are loss/ damage by fire, lightning, riot and strike, malicious damage, explosion, theft, and as per the standard policy.
Building - covers all first class residential buildings with permanent fixtures and fittings.
The sum insured should be on reinstatement basis. Insurance may be taken by the owner of the building whether it is occupied by the owner or rented.
Contents – covers house hold goods, furniture, kitchen appliances, computers and electrical/electronic items and items that are generally used by the insured within the premises.
Personal Effects - covers personal effects and valuables which are used within and outside of the house and for worldwide for travel purpose. Items such as clothing, cameras, laptop computers, watches, and jewellery worn on person.
